My New Room

This blog is about what mom and I shopped for all day yesterday (See yesterday's blog). Grandma shopped too...what we couldn't find, grandma looked for across town. Good thing she did...she found just the bed that I wanted. I have moved to a toddler bed. We redid my whole room. I have a girly room now! It is purple and pink with butterflies. There are a few more things we are going to add to the room. We have the summer to finish decorating.
Most kids move out of their crib when either they are too old or can climb out. Not me, I got moved because I chew on my bed. Some babies stay on a bottle, have a pacifier, suck thumbs and fingers, or have a blanket. Not me, but I have my chewing problem. I chew on EVERYTHING! Every parent has some sort of goofy battle. Yup, mine is chewing.
My parents have tried everything to keep me from chewing on my bed. Chew toys, the works. They put a sticky rubber thing that is molded to fit any crib. That worked for a few months, but slowly I took it off. Mom and dad would walk in and see paint all on my face and elsewhere. It is non toxic, but my parents still don't think it is safe. Then they bought a plastic piece that fits on top of crib railings. Nope that didn't last one night. Mom walked in my room one night and I was playing the drums with them. They tried to put them on better, but the next night mom walked in my room she tripped on one of them on the floor and then noticed that I was cuddling one while sleeping in bed like a body pillow. They got real crafty and decided to use strong (would pull plaster off, it is so strong) double sided tape. That really worked. I couldn't get those off for anything. So I decided to start chewing on the vertical poles now too. So mom and dad decided it was time to move me to a toddler bed, a plastic one!

Now the battle will be will I stay in my bed? Will my parents get sleep ever again? Will I just find something else to chew on?

Well so far so good. Tonight I went right to sleep. My new bed is so comfortable! Normally, I toss and turn and kick off my blanket. Tonight, I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow and mommy tucked me in. I was in heaven. I feel so grown up!

Here is my other new bed. This weekend I started crawling in Gizmo's bed a lot. It is a fun new game!

I will keep you posted on how I sleep in my bed tonight. So far so good. My bed, not Gizmo's bed! Good night!

I hope last night went well. From what I have heard from friends, moving to a big kid bed can be a major hassle. Good luck!

Mary,

Welcome to the Big Girls and Boys Club. Good to hear your parents finally got the message.
