Gizmo Home?

I went to school while mom went to visit Gizmo. He gave the vet and my parents a scare this morning. His heart rate went down really really low. It didn't look good for Gizmo.

But with mom and dad visiting him he perked up. It seemed that the best medicine was for him to be with family. That was the only thing really working. Gizmo has always been a very sensitive dog. I think he is sad without his family and being locked in a cage all weekend with no one really watching him.

Mom and dad had to make a difficult decision to bring him home despite the vets orders. The vet thinks a few more days in the hospital, but it isn't getting any cheaper and he seems to do so much better when he is around family. We had to keep his IV catheter in just in case.
I was so excited to see Gizmo. I happily screamed his name over and over. I also gave him lots of kisses.
Since he has been home there have been some happy times and some very sad times. One minute he is so perky, eating, and up to his old tricks like barking out his window or begging at the dinner table. The next minute he was throwing up and looking as if he was about to go to a better place. Then again later on he would be perky again.

We just hope he makes it through tonight. At least he is home and not in a lonely cage. Mom and dad said they are going to wake up a lot to try to feed him water during the night to keep his fluids up. In the morning he gets an ultrasound that is suppose to hopefully give us A LOT of answers.

Meanwhile my fever has gone up to 100. I have a horrible cough and I am back to my breathing treatments again. Mom and dad are taking turns holding Gizmo and myself.

I will keep you posted....
