Queen of the Roadhouse
Dad's car is in the shop, so we have been taking and picking up Dad from work. Tonight after picking him up we went to Texas Roadhouse that was just built near our house.
Before we got there I had already been in the car for an hour and was getting very antsy and hungry. I wasn't in a good mood the last 10 minutes of the drive. Mom was debating whether we should even go out to eat since I had been in the car already for a long time and didn't want me in that mood in the restaurant. A few weeks ago, I started getting cranky at restaurants. Mom and dad have been working with me at home by giving me things to do before and after I eat to increase my time to sit still at a table for longer periods of time without putting up a fuss. They give me colors, books, and stickers. It has been working because I have been getting better. Tonight I got an A-.
We didn't have to wait long luckily, but while we waited I couldn't believe the messy restaurant that mom and dad chose. There were peanut shells all over the floor. (sorry, bad pics from phone camera)
While we waited I decided I would help clean up by handing the ones on the floor to dad. What a mess!

Despite their mess, the food was good. Soon as we sat down they gave us bread that was delicious! The chicken strips and mashed potatoes were great too.
I was a good girl at the table and sat their quietly without putting up a fuss for an hour. That is a huge accomplishment!

The best part was that occasionally the waiters and waitress would dance and clap to the loud country music. I stood up and wanted to dance and clap too! I had a ball.
After the last dance, all I wanted to do was stand and dance. That is why I got the A- and not a A +....I wouldn't listen when mom and dad told me to sit the last 10 minutes of dinner. I just wanted to dance to the nice country music. Maybe dad just didn't like the music for those of you that know my dad. Ha!

Mom took me to the bathroom to wash up (really to break the habit of wanting to dance at the table and stop me from crying). As we walked to the restroom, I kept stopping in the aisle and would dance and clap. The other people thought it was funny! Afterwards, I went back to the table and was a good girl again playing quietly with my stickers and books at the table.
When we left, I waved bye bye to everyone in the restaurant especially the dancers, oh and the lizard that was on the wall next to our table! That place rocks, now I know why mom and dad like that place despite the mess!

We've never taken Barrett there. He would be really upset about their mess too!
