Allergy Testing and More

I had my scratch test for allergies today and I screamed bloody murder while mom and dad held me down. After they pricked me, we had to wait 20 minutes to read my back. Luckily, daddy was able to hold me as long as nothing touched my back. Here is my back at the beginning of the 20 minutes.

Here is 10 minutes into it...

We were able to watch a Disney movie to help the time go by faster.
I am allergic to cats, one type of mold, 2 types of dust mites, Bermuda grass, and a little bit to eggs. I can't take shots yet, just an awareness more than anything right now. Also they are able to prescribe good medicine for the breathing machine. They gave me antibiotics for a sinus infection too. After the testing was done and we were waiting on the doctor to talk to us, I had enough. I took the stool to barricade the door so no one else could come in.

Two hours later we were out of there. Mommy and I stopped to have lunch at a cafe that daddy says only women go to. Mommy bought me a pink lemonade and grilled cheese there. Yum! I tried my first pickle too. That wasn't so great. I crashed on the way home.

The rest of the day mommy and I played. Mommy bought me a new puzzle for being such a good girl at the doctor's office. I love puzzles. Later in the day, I tried on every body's shoes. I love shoes!

Mom's...
Dad's...
And my mom's old squeaky shoes that was bought in Japan when mommy was my age. They sound like Gizzie's toys when you walk in them. It drove Gizmo nuts.
I played dress up too. The 80's are back in right? This is what happens when I do my own hair!

I helped cook daddy's birthday dinner. I loved the cupcakes we bought for daddy.

What a day! Happy Birthday Daddy!

Hi, you don't know me... I had googled "scratch test for allergies" and I came across your blog. If you have time, I would love to hear what made you decide to go with the test? My three year old daughter has had breathing issues as long as I can remember. A year ago, they took her tonsils and adnoids out. I thought that it would help, but we have noticed no difference in her breathing. Our doctor recently put her on a high dose of antibiotics thinking that it was chronic sinusitus. She also put her on claratin and nasonex, hoping that if it was allergies that would take care of it. Again, nothing has changed. Our next options are the scratch test or an MRI to get a better look at her sinuses. I would love to hear back from you about how you felt about the scratch test on your daughter. Was it worth it?? Would you recommend that we proceed with that? Thanks for your time! Erin
