Happy!

This is written in my mom's point of view...

I could not be happier with Mary's new school. It really feels like she is at school and not a daycare. The other school was called a school, but after being in this one her old one was more of a daycare. There is a difference. One babysits and the other teaches. She is learning a lot of new things. More importantly Mary is so happy!

Surprising enough 2 friends of Mary's from her other school switched too this week. I wonder if they left for the same reasons? It might have helped Mary's transition to have some familiar faces in her new school. Hopefully the sickness won't follow. But sickness aside, I am so happy that we moved Mary to a new school. She is getting a lot more out of this school. They have show and tell, Paul's Pizza days, music / dance, picnic days, art days, math days, books of the week, and a real curriculum that they actually follow with parent newsletters. I could name a million things this school does better.

Here are 2 other classwork that Mary brought home from this week to add to our fridge. One is her classroom rules that Mary glued pictures to represent the rules. The other is painting with fall colors.

Mary's teacher gives all her student's a journal that she writes in about their progress at the end of the week. Here is what Mary's first entry was from her teacher: "Mary has adjusted so well to school and enjoys playing with all of her friends. Ms. Tina is introducing her to Montessori by showing her to get her rug, choose her work off the shelf, work with it, then putting it back, and choosing something else to work with. Mary is doing Great! She's been having fun singing songs and listening to stories. Mary loves dancing to music. She's a good eater and always eats all of her lunch. She really likes the Graduate Meals. We're working with her on using her spoon instead of her hands. Mary takes a 2 to 2 1/2 hour nap everyday. She's a sweet, smart, and happy little girl. We've enjoyed having her here. Ms. Nina "

I can't imagine how happy we all will be if her health gets better too. So far, so good! : )
