Birthday Fun
Yeeaahhh---I’ve been looking forward to Saturday for a while!!
The good news: It was my friend, Barrett’s birthday. I always know we’re gonna have fun at his pa-pa’s house!
The bad news: my mommy was feeling a little ill. On top of it, she caught my pink eye and decided to stay home rather than give it to all my friends. That’s okay, daddy said he would take me by himself, so I soon forgot.
I guess I wanted mommy to go too, because I was reeeeeaaaaally cranky by the time we got to Barrett’s, and she usually knows how to calm me down. It didn’t help daddy turned the wrong way down their street, so I let him know it just like mama would: screaming, nagging, and a guilt trip or two :-)
It took me a while to get adjusted once we got there. I thought dada was taking me to school, just like he does whenever I ride in his car. There were lots of people and kids I hadn’t seen in a while, which made me a little uncomfortable. After a while, someone gave me a balloon which made me feel better! Then I saw a giant piñata bear Barrett’s cousin brought. I kept running into the room to talk and play with it, but he acted nervous like he knew something I didn’t. Daddy kept saying the bear’s tummy was upset from eating so much candy. He said there was a way to make it feel better but wouldn't tell me how....
Everyone went outside after a bit, and that’s when I saw three pools: two big ones and one kiddy pool. I jumped in the small pool, picked out grass (my favorite thing to do), put it in my mouth, and splashed around a bit. Barrett then came over and showed me how to swim, and told me I’d have much MORE fun in one of the big pools…boy was he right!
After I jumped-in and saw all the grass in there, I went to town! I handed as much as I could find to daddy!!
Barrett and his friend cannon-balled into the pool, splashing water everywhere. I think he likes me, so I flirted back by giggling and laughing when they splashed me! I splashed around the whole time, and had a ball!
After a while, I was getting hungry. Even though I didn’t want to get out, daddy dried me off, and we sat down to eat. The burgers were so good! We then went back outside where the bear was hanging from the basketball goal, with my friends swinging sticks at him. Dada took me back inside to get the camera and by the time we came back the bear’s tummy candy was everywhere!
We came back inside for some yummy cake, and watch Barrett open his gifts. He had lots of toys! He then opened ours….a Sit-n-spin!! We stayed a little longer, but I started to get cranky again. I guess I missed sharing all this fun with mommy! We said goodbye, and drove home. No matter how tired I felt, daddy looked more tired for some reason. I guess he missed mommy being there too!
(Daddy wrote this one for me!)
