First Part of Thanksgiving Break

After Mary's volleyball tournament on Saturday...see other blog on that, we took the girls to see a Thanksgiving turkey movie at our new theatre on Sunday.  We had a family date night.  We all did our hair all pretty, went to Chilli's to eat, then to the movies!

 At the movies...
Then on Monday, we drove up to see Peepawl and Grandma Carolyn in Meridian, TX.  It is about an hour north of Waco.  It got very, very cold and almost snowed.  It is rare to be in the 20's in Texas in November!

The girls had a great time and was looking forward to it.

We went to the Dinosaur Valley State Park that was 30 minutes from their house.

There are dinosaur fossil tracks in the riverbed in several places at the State Park.  Pretty neat.  It was hard to find, but we finally did.
We had to cross the river on those rocks to the other side to see the big fossil dinosaur tracks and try not to fall in and get hypothermia.  That was the girls favorite part of the day, crossing the river to see the tracks they said.

You can see a few here under the water.
Hard to see in the picture below...so the next picture is a close up of some tracks.
Back left you can see really big ones too....3 in a row in the back left.

Then we played at the playground.

Then we went to a country restaurant that had really good food, to a popcorn store, and then to a chocolatier that we went to last year at Christmas.  Oh, so good, yummy food!!!

Later Grandma Carolyn made a ham and pumpkin pie!  While we waited on dinner, the girls played in the backyard looking for shells, pecans from the tree, and playing in the leaves and with the dog.

Throwing the leaves in the air!  We aren't use to having a true fall in Houston.  They had fun in the leaves throwing them in the air!

They loved the dog!  He is very playful and loving!

Sarah found her own door....the doggy door.  She thought that was awesome!

 Mary too...

 Slumber Party!
Driving home....we enjoyed looking at the trees that have fall color!
And ofcourse we stop in Aggie land for a break!
