Back at Home!

I loved being at my grandparent's house, but it is also good to be back at home. Mommy is getting better and better.

At My Grandparents

I am having a ball at my Grandparent's house while mommy gets better. I have been there all week. This is the longest that I have ever been away from my mom and dad. Granddaddy and I are going to the malls, playing, and having lots of fun. He is spoiling me silly! I could especially get use to his good cooking! Yum, yum!

I was told that I would be going home soon because mommy's fever is going down. And by the way it does look like she caught her sickness from me. Mommy went to another doctor today who said she has oyster size ulcers where her tonsils use to be. She doesn't have it on her hands and feet like I did, but the same virus more than likely. He gave her stronger antibiotics, not for this virus, but in case of a secondary infection. Except for the throat, I was told she is doing much better.

Enough Already

Okay, another blog about sickness...this time, mommy! Poor mom caught another sickness from me. Actually, we don't know if she has the same thing or not yet. We have been at daycare or training for 3 weeks and mommy has been sick twice and so have I. This is ridiculous!

Mommy's first day at school with kids was yesterday and she went there with 100 fever. As the day went on she felt a lot worse. She went to the doctor right after work and had 103.1 fever even with Motrin in her. She is in a lot of pain. The doctors orders are that she can't go to work for a while. That can't be good to have a sub the first week of school.

I am staying at my grandparents while she gets better. We don't want me to catch something else. I love playing at my grandparents. Thank you so much for letting me stay while mommy gets better. I don't know what we would do without you all! I know you are tired...thanks again!!!

Round 2

I just finished all my medicines from my cold and pink eye that I caught from my first days at school. I started to feel normal again and went to a couple cool parties.

A few days later, I got another fever. I was up all Tuesday night crying. Dad took me to the doctor today and I have Hand, Foot, and Mouth Virus again! I have lots of ulcers in my mouth and on my hands and feet. I am screaming almost non stop from the pain.
To top it off, it was my mom's 30th birthday today. Dad still managed to bake her favorite cake, but a lot of other plans were nixed.
This is so frustrating for me to be in so much pain and for my mom and dad. We don't want another year like last year...ALWAYS being sick. Mom's students start on Monday, is it too late for her to quit? Would her certificate be on hold or gone forever? She could stay home with me and I wouldn't be as sick!

Birthday Fun

Yeeaahhh---I’ve been looking forward to Saturday for a while!!

The good news: It was my friend, Barrett’s birthday. I always know we’re gonna have fun at his pa-pa’s house!

The bad news: my mommy was feeling a little ill. On top of it, she caught my pink eye and decided to stay home rather than give it to all my friends. That’s okay, daddy said he would take me by himself, so I soon forgot.

I guess I wanted mommy to go too, because I was reeeeeaaaaally cranky by the time we got to Barrett’s, and she usually knows how to calm me down. It didn’t help daddy turned the wrong way down their street, so I let him know it just like mama would: screaming, nagging, and a guilt trip or two :-)

It took me a while to get adjusted once we got there. I thought dada was taking me to school, just like he does whenever I ride in his car. There were lots of people and kids I hadn’t seen in a while, which made me a little uncomfortable. After a while, someone gave me a balloon which made me feel better! Then I saw a giant piñata bear Barrett’s cousin brought. I kept running into the room to talk and play with it, but he acted nervous like he knew something I didn’t. Daddy kept saying the bear’s tummy was upset from eating so much candy. He said there was a way to make it feel better but wouldn't tell me how....

Everyone went outside after a bit, and that’s when I saw three pools: two big ones and one kiddy pool. I jumped in the small pool, picked out grass (my favorite thing to do), put it in my mouth, and splashed around a bit. Barrett then came over and showed me how to swim, and told me I’d have much MORE fun in one of the big pools…boy was he right!

After I jumped-in and saw all the grass in there, I went to town! I handed as much as I could find to daddy!!

Barrett and his friend cannon-balled into the pool, splashing water everywhere. I think he likes me, so I flirted back by giggling and laughing when they splashed me! I splashed around the whole time, and had a ball!

After a while, I was getting hungry. Even though I didn’t want to get out, daddy dried me off, and we sat down to eat. The burgers were so good! We then went back outside where the bear was hanging from the basketball goal, with my friends swinging sticks at him. Dada took me back inside to get the camera and by the time we came back the bear’s tummy candy was everywhere!

We came back inside for some yummy cake, and watch Barrett open his gifts. He had lots of toys! He then opened ours….a Sit-n-spin!! We stayed a little longer, but I started to get cranky again. I guess I missed sharing all this fun with mommy! We said goodbye, and drove home. No matter how tired I felt, daddy looked more tired for some reason. I guess he missed mommy being there too!

(Daddy wrote this one for me!)

Chocolate Pudding

I have been daddy's girl all weekend. Tonight, I wanted to eat dinner in his lap. After dinner I had chocolate pudding for dessert. I love daddy so much that I fed him some of my pudding. Aren't we cute?

Still Sick!

Yup, I am still sick. I still had to go to school this week while mom went to training for work. I had the "crud" all week, but little fever. Now my nose is completely stuffed up and infected. I woke up this morning with my eyes infected and a cough as well. Mom took me to the doctor this afternoon and luckily my lungs and ears are OK. The doc gave me 3 types of medicine to fight this off. He said it isn't allergies, just a daycare cold. I like playing with my friends and learning at school, but I hate being sick all the time. I miss the summer with my mommy!!!

Here We Go Again!

As you know I wasn't sick all summer!!! I was at school barely 3 days this week and guess what...here comes the sickness! I was up screaming and crying a lot on Friday night. My nose is runny and I am getting congested. I was crying during the night because it hurts and I am mad to be getting sick again. Am I going to be sick all school year again thanks to daycare?

I am spending Saturday wrapped up in my mom's favorite childhood blanket, The Piggy Quilt, while watching my favorite movies.

Day 2 of School

I was at school a lot longer today from 8:30 to 2:30. I cried when mom took me again, but I quickly stopped after she left. I had a good time at school. I forgot how much fun it is to learn, play with new toys, and friends. When mom came to get me I ran to her, gave her a big hug, and then walked off to play some more with my friends. Mom was shocked, but she was also happy to see me happy at school again. Now the guilt can stop or at least decrease some.

Back to School

Today was my first day back at school. Yes, the backpack is a little big...it is really mom's new diaper bag and my lunch kit all built in one. Mom loves it! Don't worry I don't carry it on my back. I woke up early ready for the big day. I wore my new shirt that daddy bought me when he had a lunch with work at the Aquarium. When mom and dad dropped me off I cried and screamed...then mom cried too. Luckily, mom picked me up early around lunch time and we had lunch with dad. Tomorrow I have to go to school most of the day. We are trying to gradually get me back into the swing of things. I will miss summer with my mommy!
