Yea, Daddy Did It!

Some of you know the story, some don't. A few weeks ago when we got back from the pool, dad decided to put some clothes in the washing machine. He didn't realize that the shorts mom was wearing earlier that day at the pool had her cell phone in it. Needless to say the cell phone did not survive the swim.

Mom decided to get a camera phone this time. She has taken several random pictures at malls, parks, home, and outside. Daddy figured out today how to get those pictures onto the computer. So some pictures you see on the blogs in the future might not be the best of pictures if they are from her phone.

Here are some pictures from her phone. Most of the stories that goes with the pictures you have seen on previous blogs.

More Summer Fun

Since the Galveston trip, I have wanted to do more water slides. My parents tried to set up a slide into my baby pool a couple of times when the sun decided to peep out.

It was fun, but still not the same as Palm Beach. Those water slides were a lot of fun! Maybe I can talk my parents into going to Schlitterbahn. They have tons of water slides, even for my size! : )

Other than playing in the backyard, mom takes me to parks and to different malls to play. Today we went to Willowbrook Mall instead of the Woodlands. I had fun playing in the play area. They had a slide too, but without water.

I would have more fun if Barrett or Fischer could join me! Hint Hint, we need a play date!

At the mall, thanks to Granddaddy, it is a tradition to get a pretzel. Yum, I love those things!

After the mall, we had lunch with Daddy. I look forward to that every week!

Father's Day and Trip To Galveston

Before our trip to Galveston, mommy, Gizzie, and I were busy preparing for Father's Day. We made dad a steak dinner, strawberry pie, and art.
We also bought him a MP3 player, 2 shirts, and a movie. We gave him a present every day starting on Thursday till Sunday to spread them out and because a vacation would start on Sunday.

On Sunday, we stayed at my Grandparent's house. We took Granddaddy out for dinner for Father's Day too. I have fun playing at my Grandparent's.

Monday morning, we left Gizzie at my grandparent's and headed for Galveston. We were afraid the bad weather was going to continue, but we were lucky and had great weather.

We got to Galveston early before Moody Gardens opened so we stopped for donuts and walked on the beach. I saw a beach for the first time and was in awe of it.
After the beach, we went to Moody Gardens. We went to the Rainforest Pyramid, Aquarium Pyramid, and Palm Beach. My favorite was Palm Beach!!! It is a beach/pool/park. I loved the water slides. There was a section that had an octopus on top of a submarine. You can climb on top of the octopus and slide down on one of 4 slides or you can go inside the submarine to play and slide as well. I went down them all and had a ball!

At 2:00, we left for our hotel at the San Luis Resort. I fell asleep before we left the Moody Gardens' parking lot. Not wanting to wake me up, mom and dad drove up and down the seawall a couple times to be sure I took at least a 30 minute nap. Good thing they did because as soon as we drove up to the hotel I was wide awake ready for more fun.

The hotel was really pretty. We had a room with a balcony that overlooked the beach and pool. We sat on the balcony at times with a sippie cup as we watched the waves and birds.
I wasn't allowed to go on the balcony by myself, but I could watch the waves and birds through the glass. We showered and played in the hotel room for a little while. I played with a couple of my usual toys that mom packed, but what I really cared for was my new beach shovel set and a full length mirror.
We got dressed up and headed out. Here is the entrance to our hotel.

For dinner, we walked to the Rainforest Cafe. You eat in a jungle surrounded by animals that is inside a Volcano. You can see the Volcano go off from our room. It is the second time I have been to one and I love it. This one was a little different in that it also had a boat ride called the Rainforest's River Adventure Ride. Mom said it was a ride similar to what I can expect one year at Disney. Along the boat ride, it is real dark and all these animals jump out at you. I wasn't scared at all. Mom got scared on the snake and spider sections. It was a lot of fun! Here are pics from the ride.

We came back to the hotel and went to the hotel pool. Mom and Dad did the big person's slide. It was too rough and fast for me. Then I practiced swimming in the pool. We got thirsty so we swam up to the pool bar and mom and dad had a beer and I had a (non alcoholic) Shirley Temple. I could have kept playing, in fact I threw a small temper tantrum when we left the pool. I didn't want the day to end, I was having so much fun.

I went right to sleep in the hotel without any problems (in Pac n play). Mom and dad went out on the balcony for a little while I went to sleep.

The next morning, we had juice and coffee on the balcony and watched the birds and waves. It was peaceful. We were hungry so we walked to I-Hop. Yum, pancakes!

Tuesday we went back to Palm Beach since I had so much fun on the water slides. This time I took my shovel beach set with me. I went back and forth between the water slides and playing in the sand making sand castles.

We had a picnic then headed to my Grandparent's. We picked up Gizzie...vacation was over. I had so much fun! I can't wait to do something like that again. I did miss Gizzie though, I have given him tons of kisses and hugs since we have been home.
This was only a one night trip, can you imagine how long this blog would have been had it been a week. : )

I Could Get Used To This!

Summer has been a lot of fun! Mom and I are together all the time.

We go to different parks and I go down the big girl slides now. I can even go down the enclosed slide and I love it.

We have also done a lot of shopping. When we shop we take a break and I get to play at the tree playground in the mall. Last week mom bought me a new movie, Stuart Little. I can not explain how hard that makes me laugh. I can't stop laughing at that mouse. I watch the whole thing rolling in laughter. I was laughing so hard mom had to get out the video camera.

Once a week, we pick up dad at work and have lunch together. That is a treat, I love seeing him more!

Some days we stay inside and mom and I do art projects with paints and crayons. The fridge is full with our art displays.

As you remember, I did not like swimming at my aunt Tara's on Memorial weekend and I throw a fit every time mom pulls out the baby pool in the backyard. But slowly this week, I started to like playing in the water. Mom and dad hooked up the sprinkler in the backyard and I had a ball. After doing that a couple of times this past week, I was brave enough to go in Tara's pool. I loved it! In the picture above, I am in my daddy's arms between my mom on the green float and my grandma walking around. I went in the pool Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Here I am in my cool pool car. One of the neat things about swimming is that my fingers and toes turn into raisins. They don't taste as good as the raisins mom buys in the store. My Grandparents are staying at my Aunt Tara's. I have been able to spend a lot of time with them. It has been a blast. Uncle Carl is in town, so I got to see him too. Good family time! We missed the Craig's though.

After playing in the sprinklers or the pool, mom and I take a bath, put on our matching striped pj's and watch a movie on a pallet till bedtime. I have been able to stay up till 9:00 instead of 8:00 since it is summer. However, I have only slept in once. I am just ready to start the next big day!

You have seen in previous blogs how my parents had to make a soft landing for me in case I fall off the bed. I sometimes use it instead to go to sleep. After I fall asleep they put me in my bed. Well tonight when mom looked in on me, I had taken my pillow off my bed and used it as my mattress. And they thought that I needed a bigger bed. Ha!

Bad Day / Good Day

I had to go to the doctor today to give more blood for allergy testing. Mom and the nurses had to hold me down. I did not like it so I cried my eyes out. They had to hold me down for 10 minutes to get the blood out. It took longer than usual because my veins weren't acting right so they said. I hate going to the doctor! Either I am getting shots, my lungs sucked out (hospital), my ears sucked out at the ENT, surgery, or giving blood. It was a horrible morning.

Afterwards mom took me to Meyer Park that is right next door to the doctor's office. It made me feel better. We strolled around and watched ducks, birds, and squirrels. I also got to play on the playground.

After the park, mom and I ate at a nearby donut shop! I chose a pink iced sprinkled one and some milk. Yummy in my tummy!
Then we went to the grocery store. I helped mom push the cart.

We came home had lunch, watched a recording of Sesame Street, played some more, and then I crashed.
I fall asleep better on the floor and then mom or dad move me to my bed. They try to put in my bed from the beginning but I always get out and fall asleep on the floor.
Oh, what a day! I like being home with mommy for the summer...well except for the doctor part.
