Hand, Foot, and Mouth

I have a new teacher at school and I love her! She does a lot of art activities with us. See my beautiful artwork from this week displayed on the fridge.
The one on the left are flowers from my hand prints. The one on the top right is my abstract art that we used Q-tips to work on our motor skills. Then the bottom one is a picture of symmetry. I folded the paper, pressed, and looked at the magic.

Now you are probably wondering how the title of this blog fits in.

On Thursday at school, I got a HIGH fever out of nowhere. My ears felt fine, no congestion, just high fever.

Friday I went to the doctor and I have Hand, Foot, and Mouth virus. The one of many viruses I have caught from school. I have ulcer type sores in my mouth that hurt and I might get them on my hands and feet too. The doctor said my fever would break soon and that I could go back to school on Monday.

Saturday my fever broke, my mouth still hurts, but no ulcers on my hands and feet. Here is a picture of mom looking into my mouth for sores. I have learned that when she says "Ah," I say it too and open up my mouth real big.
Meanwhile, I have enjoyed being home despite my sickness. I have been able to stay in my jammies, watch a lot of TV while enjoying my favorite snack of Goldfish, and get cuddle time with my Granddaddy, mom, and dad.
Priceless...Being home also gave me the time to organize my dad's Cd's. Anyone who knows my dad, knows how neat his Cd's have to be. I was a "big help".
The end result...

Zoo and Slide

I had a great weekend. On Saturday, we went to the zoo and on Sunday mom and dad bought me a slide set.

At the zoo I saw meerkats (sp?) that sit up like Gizmo when he begs for food. They were cute and made me laugh. My parents bought me a stuffed animal version of one and a zoo t-shirt.
I also saw elephants, giraffes, tigers, lions, seals, and many more animals. My favorite were the birds that weren't even in a cage. They were the ones that were flying and eating food off the sidewalk near the food places. This must be why most people go to the zoo. : ) I wanted to pet one, but they would fly off too quickly. Here I am planning my attack to catch a bird.
Here are some other pictures of me at the zoo:

The fake elephant scared me. Look how tight I am holding onto daddy!
I liked the zoo. I didn't get to see everything because I got hot and tired. Next time I will see the other animals too.

Now for the slide part of the weekend. On Sunday, mom and dad bought a slide and a swing set. I like the toys on top of the slide.

Here I go...
Whooo...
Time to relax in the swing.
Oh, what a great weekend!

Chairs

From one chair to another. Mom and dad put away my highchair. It is in the background in the above picture, but now it is put away. It was a pain to keep clean and I am ready to sit at the table with my family. I feel like such a big girl!

I have moved to another chair as well...my mom's recliner. Mom thought it would be cute to put me in it. Little did she know that I would want to stay in it. I am taking over her chair. I decided to just chill and watch Mary Poppins in it.
After a while, I thought it would be fun to stand in it. Mom and dad didn't agree and after the 2nd warning I was taken out of the chair. I threw a fit wanting back in, but they didn't give in. I took my mind off of it by playing with other things.

A long time after the fit, mom put me back in it to continue watching my movie. I did good. I sat there like a big girl and almost fell asleep in the chair. I thought, "Let's see if they think it is fun this time to stand up." Darn it, I only got one warning this time and was out of the chair. Lesson learned! I really like all of my new chairs.

Not!

I went to the ENT on Wednesday and I am doing great! I passed the hearing test with flying colors and everything (tubes) looks wonderful.

Not!

About two hours after the doctor visit, I started screaming bloody murder!!! Mommy and daddy thought I had a stomach ache from dinner. Little did they know my ears were killing me.

In the morning, mom and dad saw what was bothering me. My ears were bleeding a little, snot was coming out of them, and I had a fever.

Prepare your eyes for the following picture (not pretty). It is rotated and a bit blurry, but you get the point.

It really hurt. Mom stayed home with me on Thursday and gave me TLC, Tylenol, and ear drops.

On Friday, my Dad and Granddad tag-teamed taking care of me. I went back to the doctor who couldn't believe how quickly my ears had taken a turn for the worse.

They held me down to suck the gunk out of my ears. It hurt so bad! It broke my daddy's heart to have to hold me down for it. They also went up my nose to do a culture of all the good stuff up there. It was a bad visit, but I feel better now.

By the way, I still have a bad cough and crud in my lungs. The doctor gave me some antibiotics for it too.

I just found out that my cousin, who went into the hospital with pneumonia the week before I did, has it again. Oh, gosh that is scary. I hope that I too, don't get it again.

Easter Weekend

My Easter weekend had some good parts and some bad parts.

First for the good. On Good Friday, I had off from school so I did a lot of shopping with my mommy. We started at Lowe's then headed off to the mall. At the mall, we met up with my Grandma and Granddaddy. We shopped there for a while then we all continued shopping at Toys R Us and at the Market. At the Market, we ate at Cafe Express outside. It was a beautiful day. Mommy forgot the camera, so no pictures of this outing. Afterwards, I was so tired I came home and took a nap. When I woke up to my pleasant surprise my daddy was home early from work! : )

Later that afternoon, I went to my friend's birthday party at Chuck E Cheese's. I had a ball! I loved the animals that sing and dance on a stage. I wanted to climb on the stage with them and dance.
I enjoyed clapping my hands to the music. They also have rides there and I rode the Barney Train. I wasn't too sure about it.

We had pizza and cake. Yum!
I got to meet the real Chuck E Cheese! I really liked him. You can't tell by the picture because I was upset that my turn was over. Mommy got me on video dancing with him!
I had fun. Maybe I will have my party there next year!

Now for the bad, during the night on Friday I started coughing. Yes, I am sick again. I woke up on Saturday with fever, a bad cough, teething, and I threw up in my toychest. I didn't feel good all day. All I wanted to do was sleep in my sleeping bag and watch cartoons. I stayed home all day in my jammies.
On Easter Sunday, I didn't go to church. I still have a fever and a horrible cough. I was up a lot of the night not feeling good, but the Easter Bunny still snuck in without me knowing. The bunny left a basket of goodies for me. I got a book, 2 small chocolate bunnies (which I just like chewing on the box more), a bunny snow globe for my new collection, and corn popper (a toy to drive Gizmo nuts).
The bunny also hid some eggs for me. We didn't get to dye any eggs since I didn't feel good the day before so the bunny hid the plastic ones. Which was good afterall, because when I would find them I would throw them on the floor. Gizmo was a big help showing me where all the eggs were hidden.
I still didn't feel good, but my Easter Basket made me feel better. Later on in the day, mommy and I made cookies! I helped her take the dough from the package and place them on the cookie sheet. I really did help!
Gizmo and I watched and waited on the cookies to cook.
They were so good; however, I felt bad eating the cute bunny on it. I am in better spirits and have less of a fever. I don't know if I am going to school yet. We are waiting to see how the night goes.

Dress Up!

Tonight I enjoyed playing dress up in my parent's bathroom mirror. I would take turns between putting on a black or pink headband. Sometimes I would just sit the headband on top of my head like a crown. It was fun! I love trying to brush my own hair too.
Time for the pink one...
Mom made a game out of it by trying to tease my hair. I looked funny.

It was a lot of fun. Silly mommy!

On Sunday I went to the Houston Children's Festival with my mom and dad. There were a lot of kids, balloons, bubbles, characters, and animals (and marketers). I got to ride in my new umbrella stroller, which I love!! I had a good time. Here are a few pictures...

On another note...
I have a favorite that I sleep with and sometimes walk around with...my mommy's baby pillow. I love cuddling up with it when I go to sleep! My mom gave it to me a week ago and I love it!!!
