All things Halloween

The kids wanted to decorate the house more for Halloween.  More and more people are putting up lights and decorations for halloween like Christmas in our neighborhood.  So the kids wanted to add to our normal Halloween decorations.  They chose a skull and spider that lights up.
Mary ready for Church last Sunday.
Painting Pumpkins!

Carving our Pumpkin!  OOOOHHH!

 Making Halloween cookies!
Mary has been practicing in our new Church Choir and is learning chimes and bells on Wednesday nights.  While she does, Sarah and I play.  This last week we rode her bike around the "greenbelt" type area around our church.

 Mary practicing!

Our School had 50's Day for the 50th day of School.

Sarah doesn't get to dress up in 50's day wear until she is in Kindergarten.  She had a fall party instead, so she is in her fall outfit.
 Sarah at school...
I was lucky to join Sarah at her Fall Party for a little while on my off period.

Back to 50's Day.  During the week each class had a dance off during PE and the winner of each class got to be in the dance off in front of the whole school!  Mary was chosen again!  She did it 2 years ago in Kindergarten.  Here she is ready to dance in front of the whole school with her boy dance partner!

They are lineing up ready for the music.

 And the music is on....

Mary and her partner lasted 3 songs, but in the end she wasn't the final 2 couples so she was sad she lost.  When you are tapped on the shoulder, you go to the back till it is over.
 The final two
Even though sad she lost, she did great and was a huge honor to be chosen.  Also, so proud she isn't embarrassed to dance in front of the whole school and their parents.  Only almost 800 people!  Yea, Mary!

Then after school, take off the poodle skirt and dress up for something else.  Volleyball practice tonight they wore told they could paint their face and wear a Halloween shirt and there would be a prize for the best!  So Mary went as a cat!

I told Sarah that while we were at Mary's practice that I would paint Sarah's face too for fun with the left over paint.  So I did...here is my pumpkin!
Sarah was eating Oreo's too at the time!
Mary won her scrimmage at the end of practice, a serving game, and for best halloween get up!!!  She ended up with several prizes at the end of the day, so she was very happy!  Good day!!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Busy, Busy, Busy we are...not Gizzie as you see.
Mary and Sarah playing in a box in the garage.  While daddy was out of town, we reorganized the garage for him as part one of his birthday gift.
We also decorated the wall at the spot that is his marker as to how far to pull in.

Here is happy, goofy Sarah the last night daddy was out of town.
By morning, here is Sarah with high fever!  What a difference.
She had very, very high fever for a week.  It went up to 103.9 at one point with meds.
 Then the next week...Mary's turn.
She was shivering after a bath...
Blood test, just a virus they said for them both.
Then finally the kids got better.  Here is Sarah having fun at a friends birthday party.

Here is Mary at a party skating.
 All pretty ready for Church.
Sarah learning to color in the lines.

 Ready for church.
Katy curled their hair the night before when she babysat.

Gizzie got to go to Church today...it was a Pet Blessing Sunday in the afternoon.
Mary and Sarah have joined a new gymnastics class at a new facility.  Mary has a bunch of friends doing it too.
I had to go to Outdoor Ed this week, Church Camp for School.  We had perfect weather.

 Watching the sun rise!

Our school had a Walk a Thon.  Kids have to walk laps for an hour.  Mary decided to run most of it.  When I calculated her laps she did 11 laps...4 laps is a mile.  She ran almost 3 miles!  Holy cow!

Sarah had one too, but for her age they set up an Obsticle course in the gym.   She had fun!

 scooter race

Daddy's Birthday.  Sarah said daddy had to have a theme.  Since Mary watched Superman with daddy for the first time recently...it was a perfect one for him.

 Mary had a Volleyball tournament.

 Shaking hands!
She is in the back right other side of court in ready position.

Mary's team won first place!!!!  It was first to win 3 games.  They lost the first 2 and then pulled it out and won the next three.
