3 Years Old

It has been busy week, so I am just now able to blog about my birthday from this past Sunday. Here are a few pictures of the fun, big day. I have a lot more pictures, but I am tired.

I got a basketball goal and a soccer goal for my birthday. See video of me playing soccer, not bad for a first day.

Getting Better

Mom and Dad took me back to the doctor yesterday. The doctor gave me 2 more different kinds of medicine. It is really helping me. I haven't had fever for most of the week, just a nagging cough. The cough medicine is doing wonders now. I am getting better.

Lesson Learned

I am still sick from the zoo, see earlier post. I haven't been to school all week, my parents and grandad have tag teamed taking good care of me. The doctor put me on steroids and breathing machine medicine, but I am still not feeling good. I am coughing A LOT! I was just sick a few weeks ago with something like this, why again?

Zoo

After Church, we headed to the Houston Zoo. It was cold and dreary, but the newscasters promised it would burn off before lunch. We rode the train in the cold.

Then we had a picnic, still no sun insight. The newscasters missed it!

We went in the zoo and finally the sun started to come out near the end of the visit. I had fun seeing all the animals.

I went inside a fish tank. I have seen my cousin Ben do it before, so I wanted to give it a try. It is a tunnel through a fish tank. I was fine crawling through it at first, but then I stopped dead in my tracks and mommy had to come rescue me. : )

I got to ride the carousel on the monkey-gorilla.

We had a great snack of pretzel and cotton candy. The birdies liked what we had too.

It was a good family day, little cold in the beginning but all in all a good day.

However, when we got home...I started to have a congested cough. Monday afternoon I started to get a fever too. Maybe the zoo wasn't such a good idea.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Yesterday, at school we had a great Valentine's Party. I gave away valentines and received a whole bunch. When I came home, I had a hard time deciding what to eat first. I chose a blue sucker.

Then that wasn't enough, so I "two-fisted."

Mommy ended up with a lot of valentines too from work.

Saturday, mommy and daddy gave me a valentine as well, a Dora book that came with a flashlight, princess candy, and alligator lip chocolate. Yum!

Later in the day, we went to Aunt Tara's and visited Grandma and Grandaddy. They are staying there babysitting my cousins. I had fun playing outside. We played in the pool as best as we could without getting in.

Later, I played basketball with the boys.

Grandaddy helped me make my first basket.

Soon as mom saw me on Granddaddy's shoulders, she took a picture. She remembered when she too sat on Granddaddy's shoulders to shoot baskets...the little things we remember the most! I love quality time with him. I will cherish the picture of me with Granddaddy playing basketball just as my mom cherishes the picture of her and Grandaddy when she was a little girl.

The hair color might have changed, but all your love is still there and more. We love you Grandaddy, and Daddy! Happy Valentine's Day!

Mondays

Mom loves Mondays...well not usually, the weekend ends and back to work and school we go. So why does she love Mondays??? My teacher has my weekly folder ready with artworks, pictures, and newsletters of the things we learned in class from the prior week. Mom looks forward to it every Monday. A lot of school work and pictures that I post here on the blog are scanned images from my notebook. Here is a cute picture of me that my teacher had in my notebook. Mom was going to wait till Valentines to post this picture, but too cute to wait.

First Report Card

I went back to school on Wednesday and I received my first "report card". Mommy and Daddy are so proud.

We have been busy preparing for Valentine's Day too!

I am really good clicking the mouse for the computer. I can completely control the mouse. Here is a video of me playing on the computer, but also learning how to sound out words. Watch me sound out the word balloon.




Sickness update: I had a really hard time breathing last night. So bad, that if we didn't have a breathing machine here mom and dad would have taken me to the hospital. Luckily, we are pros with how to help my breathing when I have pneumonia so I am much, much better today. I am still sick but not near as bad as yesterday. We still went to the doctor today to get checked out and to find out this sickness was not caused by the flu. I did find out that I have my first ear infection in a very,very long time as well. I am excited that my Grandaddy is going to come over tomorrow to take care of me while my parents go to work. I hope that I continue to get better.
