Running

I have seen my parents run a lot, especially mommy lately (preparing to be a PE teacher). Once when mommy was running on the track at a park and I was playing with daddy, we started a cheer to cheer her on. We said, " Go, Mommy Go, Go Mommy Go!" Daddy let me down and I ran after her a long ways. Luckily mommy didn't look back and see me running or she would have stopped. I wasn't running after her, I was running to cheer her on. And it looked like fun too.

Since then, I enjoy running. Every chance I get I put on my running shoes and run outside. I run on the sidewalk, just like my parents around the neighborhood. My parents run alond side me too. I can go a pretty good distance for a two year old without stopping. I would run longer, but mommy eventually stops me in case I don't know when to stop. I love running. I get my arms and elbows really moving with my legs. Sometimes I take a nasty fall and skin my knees, but I keep going. I love running!

My teacher said when other kids play on the slides and such at recess, I just run around the playground. She told mom that as I run, I say " Go Mary Go, Go Mary Go!"

Here I am doing my Saturday run in my new running outfit (Addidas)!

On to a completely different topic...I got my bangs cut on Sunday. : )

Prayers Answered!

As some of you know, my mommy has worked all 7 of her teaching years in a title one school. The last two years have been extremely rough on my mom. She has done a lot of praying on should she quit, try again to transfer within the district to another school, go to elementary school, take an additional test to do high school math, go to private school, go to my daycare to do pre-school, or what? Something just had to change.

Mom has prayed a lot about it but after praying heavily one night, 2 days later she got a tip that there was a possible opening at a Lutheran Private School just a few miles from our house. It sounded too good to be true! She was scared at first, but did some research to see if it would be a smart move for our family. The more she researched, the more her anxiety turned into excitment that it would be great for our family. Mommy always wanted to be able to pick me up from school, but now I could go to her school. I could get a private Christian education too for free.

The position is to be the volleyball coach, and PE teacher with maybe one other class. Mom can get away from the grueling math TAKS test and do PE! Wow, what a change for the good that could be! In case you didn't know, before moving to Houston mom coached junior olympic volleyball for years. She is so excited to think about getting back into it. So for 2 weeks mommy wanted to get excited, but didn't want to count her chickens before they hatched.

So in the last two weeks, she has had a phone interview with the principal, a face to face interview with the principal with the tour of the facilities, and then an interview in front of the whole board of 7 people. The last group interview was Monday and she waited and waited all week to hear something back. Tonight the principal called and said she has the job!

Mom always wondered why, why she has had to teach in the tougher schools for all 7 years, why, why, why???? Now we know why, if not she wouldn't have been jumping at this chance to work in a Christian Private School that will be so great for me to grow up in.

Downtown Children's Festival 2008

Saturday was so much fun. First, Grandma, Grandaddy, Aunt Tara, and Cousin Katy came over to play for a while. Then we headed to McDonald's on our way to the Downtown Children's Festival. I had so much fun! We went last year too, but this year I got to do more things like the petting zoo and I rode a pony. When I rode the pony, I sat up so prim and proper. It was so much fun! I saw more things that I can't wait to do next year, like the kiddie roller coasters.

Saddling up.... Ready to go...I got the hang of it now...
