Diagnosis #2

It isn't spell checking for some reason...oh, well. The person helping me write this hasn't had the best of sleep.

There are times that I seem perfectly fine and other times when I don't feel good with a fever. The fever hasn't been as high as last weekend of 103.7, but still a fever of 99's to 100's. It has been a rollercoaster! One minute we think I can go back to school and the next I can't.

Tonight, my parents took me to the doctor's office to be sure that there isn't anything else we can do to help me get over this. As you recall the first diagnosis on Friday was pneumonia, well today we got an additional diagnosis. Yes, an additional. They ran tests on me like a swab up the nose and blood work from my finger. I didn't care for either one.

The additional diagnosis: THE FLU and the worst kind.

Nothing like having the flu and pneumonia together. They don't know if that is what originally caused it all and the doctor missed it by only focusing on the pneumonia part or if I caught it while I was there at the doctors office. There isn't anything they can do for me drug wise. I just have to wait it out, which could be 1 more week. If the doctor would have caught it earlier (the first time we went in), they could have given me something to make the flu only last 2 days. It is too late to do that for me now, but if my parents or Granddaddy start to get ill will high fever they can if they act fast.

Dad did have fever last night, but after he got a lot of sleep he was fever free. We will all have to keep an eye out, what I have is very contagious. I hope non of my love ones get this, It hasn't been fun.

Still Sick

This is what the 4th blog about the same sickness? If you haven't read in a while, start with "Out of Nowhere."

Tonight I hit 100 again before bedtime, where I was just coasting around 99's. I have a bad head cold now and still a horrible cough.

Now daddy is starting to get some fever. The fun continues....

A good thing out of this is that I am getting a lot of granddaddy time. Thanks!

Fever Free!

It is Monday and I am becoming Fever Free! See previous 2 blogs on my sickness, if you don't know what I am talking about.

The highest I have been today are only in the 99's. I am making progress and I slept really well last night. I am doing a lot of coughing, but I am breaking it up finally. It hurts to cough and I am still hoarse, but on my way to being better.

Today Granddaddy came over to take care of me while mom and dad went to work. We had a lot of fun. Thanks Granddaddy!

This evening even though I have been doing a lot better, I cried a lot. I don't have fever, but I kept crying. I still hurt to breathe and I don't feel like myself yet. Evenings are always the worst. Hopefully, I will continue to get better tomorrow!

Sickness Update

If you didn't know that I was very sick, see the previous blog.

It has been rough, but we thought that Saturday I was doing better with only temperatures of 98 to 100 with meds during the day. However, Saturday I hit 103.7 during the night. Good thing my parents check on me a lot during the night, and with cold water, stripping my outifit, and meds, it came down some.

Sunday during the day, my temp again only hit 100 with meds. I play and watch a lot of TV. I am eating A LOT too! Not eating is one of the things that put me in the hospital when I first had this, so I am making sure that I eat. I am also using my breathing machine a lot. My lungs are very, very full.

Hopefully, we don't have another high fever night. If so, I need to go back to the doctor. I will keep you posted.

OUT OF NO WHERE!

Tuesday night: Playing and healthy...and I have been for over a month!

Wednesday morning: Two "wet" coughs out of no where. Mom thought it was very strange, but I felt fine, no fever, no colds, just those two coughs.

The Rest of the morning: Teacher wrote in my journal that I had a great morning playing and learning. She wrote that I am such a happy girl.

Lunch: I had all my lunch and was happy!

2:30 Waking from Nap: I woke up crying my head off. As teacher comforts me, I threw up a lot of just phlegm. I continued to cry and cry. Teacher continued to check for fever, but no fever. Teacher called my parents anyways for them to pick me up, that I just wasn't my happy self that I was in the morning.

3:30 My dad picks me up and takes me home. My dad checks my temperature and I have 99.9
Dad gave Tylenol to me.

4: 30 Mom comes home from work and with Tylenol, I still have a little over 100. I cry and cry!

During Night: I woke up during the night with 102 fever.

Friday Morning: I still had high fever! Dad stayed home with me.

Doctor visit: Dad took me to the doctor at 10:00.

Diagnosis: Pneumonia AGAIN!
Where in the world did this come from? I haven't even had a cold! My nose is running clear now. It came out of no where and came on fast!
By this afternoon, we are fighting 103 fever! I am scared and I hurt. My voice is hoarse from crying so much. This is the 4th pneumonia I have had in 14 months. This one is unfortunately a lot like the first time that put me in the hospital to begin with. The last 2 times I had it, I didn't have high fever with it. It was walking pneumonia - a lot different. My mom and dad could have a PHD in the subject now. Dad is trying to help mom stay optimistic that we won't go to the hospital because at least this time, we have breathing machines, antibiotics just in case it isn't a virus, and I am eating / drinking okay. Mom is keeping a close eye on me tonight. It is going to be a long one for us! Please keep Mary in your prayers!

Potty Trained?

Out of no where this week, I had a growth spurt. Mom took me to the mall on Saturday morning to look for some clothes. I was getting cranky so mom was trying to hurry along and quickly find some winter clothes for me even though the malls have shorts and bathing suits out at this time. Finally, she found some winter clothes for me on sale.

At the same time, I found something as well.....Warning, this might gross you out! I found out that I pooped in my pants and put my hand in my diaper to see what it was. I had it all over my hands, stroller, clothes etc. Soon I discovered mom must have caught a smell and noticed too, because in seconds she threw down the clothes and was holding my hands with one hand and pushing the stroller with the other hand while running across the mall through the food court to the family restroom.

She got me cleaned up and washed down the stroller too. Then mom realized that she never put another extra outfit in the backpack. My clothes were completely pooped all over on. She put her jacket over me and raced back to the store to get those clothes for me to immediately wear. As she is running us back to the store, the jacket gets caught on the wheel and falls off. People are looking at us very strange as to why there is an almost naked baby on the coldest day of the year. Mom quickly put the jacket back on me to keep me warm and from embarrassment. Before we made it to the store, the jacket fell off again and more people looked at us like we were crazy again. Finally we made it to the store and she dressed me.

What a story mom was able to tell dad when we got home, he laughed but little did he know that he too would have a fun experience with me on Sunday.

On Sunday when I went down for my nap, mom went to the grocery store. Dad had come in to check on me because I was fighting my nap like usual. When he walked in he smelled that I needed changing. It wasn't until he got closer that not only did I need changing, but so did many other things.... See I knew I had pooped, so I again wanted to see what it was. I put my hands in my diaper and made a big mess. I had poop all over me, my sheets, my comforter, my clothes, my stuffed animals, my pillows, my dresser, my snow globes, my stereo, my bed rail, and my carpet. It was a huge mess! Lucky for him, mom walked in the middle of the cleaning up and she was able to help clean.

During dinner tonight at Pappadeaux, I reached in the back of my diaper. Mom and dad saw this and quickly fear came over them. They checked, but all was clear. Ha ha, made them look!

Mom and dad think this is a sign that I am ready to be potty trained. What do you think?
